Children Eating Vegetables
Do you find it really hard to get your kids to eat vegetables? If you have kids the same age as my son who’s 4, you may have the same experience as me. Nicky only eats fish sticks and spaghetti. You give him anything else and he will only taste it. You put vegetables on his plate and he will put it back into the dish bowl or into his big sister’s plate.
How can we teach our kids to eat vegetables? It can be pretty hard especially if the kids grew up eating McDonald’s burgers and fries. What I do is to add vegetables or fruits to their favorite food.
My son loves burgers so what I do is I chop vegetables and put mix them with the patties. I make dipping with vegetables. I put vegetables when I make them drinks such as smoothies and juices.

I let him help me prepare the food that we will eat so that he can taste hat we made. I also have different kinds and colors of fruits and vegetables and home and when my son gets hungry and asks for a snack, I make snacks out of the fruits and vegetables at home.
We are also starting a vegetable garden. Right now, we are starting on tomatoes. We have a 3 pots of tomatoes. I ask Nicki to help me in watering the plants. When the tomatoes come out (I hope they will soon), I’ll ask him to pick the tomatoes and I’ll let him help me cook a recipe with the tomatoes on it.
You have to be persistent in getting your children to eat vegetables and fruits. Make eating fun and of course, you have to be good models. If you don’t eat vegetables and fruits, how can you teach your children to eat them too?
