Potty Train: Do you really need to?

Potty train your baby and he will take around eighteen months to learn how to go the potty without supervision. Yes, it takes time and patience to properly teach your child one of the first essential lessons he needs to know in life.

There are numerous theories on the best way to potty train your child. The key is in getting to know the different methods and in figuring out which is right for your child. Here are three interesting examples:

Three Famous Potty Training Methods You Can Use

• Dr. Phil’s Potty Training Method or the Potty Training in One day Method is a recently popular one, and it challenges the time element mentioned above. What you need to do is use a potty training doll as an example for your child to follow. When he follows the doll, you reward him. When he does not, you give him a consequence.

While Dr. Phil says you can accomplish the training in one day, it usually takes about 2 weeks, at least according to those who were successful. This method is more difficult than it sounds.

• The most famous method in America is the usual one— your child will go to the potty when he is ready, and there is no need to force the issue. This method is supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics. What you need to do is slowly introduce your child to the concept of potty training, until he one day decides to use the potty.

You have to be sure that you constantly encourage your child to use the potty, or else he might end up making a habit of wetting the bed and using disposable diapers. The method seems to be getting less and less effective as the years go by.

• The most famous method in third-world countries around the world, the Infant Method is also a viable option. What you need to do is figure out the exact times when your child needs to go potty, so you can hold your child over it as he is doing his thing. You also teach your child a signal, so he knows when to release his waste.

This method takes a lot of time and effort, but will increase the friendship you have with your child (unless you get fed up with his soiling the entire house). It also works better if the child does not wear disposable diapers very often. Working and impatient mothers should avoid using this method.

Good parenting is your responsibility, as a loving parent. Hopefully, one of these three potty training methods will work for you. Potty train your children.

<h7>Why We Need Baby Food Coupons</h7>

My niece Amarantha has just turned 6 months old today and my sister is asking me on how to start Amarantha on baby food and where I get baby food coupons. She is very excited because she waited until Amarantha is 6 months old to give her her first solid food even if other mothers are feeding their babies as early as 4 months old.

The reason behind this was that my daughter Fifi got allergies when I started feeding her solid foods at 5 months. Even if the pediatrician told my sister that she could already feed her, she opted to wait because she’s afraid that what happened to my Fifi will happen to Amarantha too.

But now that Amarantha is 6 months, we’re all set for our baby food and collecting baby food coupons. My daughter Fifi is now 4 years old but she grew up on cheap baby foods. This doesn’t mean Fifi wasn’t able to taste expensive and branded bottled baby food, organic baby food and home-made baby food. In fact, she tried all of the food in the baby food pyramid guide and I was able to give her all of these varieties of food because I collect baby food coupons!

<h7>Where to Get Baby Food Coupons</h7>

I told my sister that she has to to know all the companies that sell baby food and research on their websites. She has to sign up on their e-mail distribution list. The companies that manufacture baby food create this e-mail list so they can send out updates and latest promotions. This is also where they give out discount coupons. With these coupons, a jar of baby food doesn’t cost me more than $1. Yes, it’s a steal if you get these coupons so go ahead and sign up in their e-mail list.

I also use Ebay. There are discount resellers who sell coupons for very cheap prices . They are able to do this because they buy in bulk and so they receive huge discounts. They pass this discount to people who bid on Ebay. Before getting too excited though, I check if the seller has a good reputation and is legitimate.

Magazines and other print materials related to parenting are also places where I always find coupons for baby food. Usually when there’s an article about babies, the ads below or besides the article include printable coupons. I cut all of them, collect them, put them in a plastic organizer and always bring that organizer whenever I go shopping for baby food and other baby stuff.

My sister called me up and excitedly shared that for her first solid food meal, Amarantha had pureed squash and she loved it. Tonight, Amarantha’s having this bottled jar of baby food my sister got for $0.55 with her baby food coupons. If you’re baby’s starting on on baby food, you don’t have to splurge on branded baby food in the market. All you need are some discount coupons and you’ll feed your baby the most nutritious solid food for the cheapest price.

Carol and Shane have been expecting this child for 7 years now. After a string of doctors and countless tests and medications, Carol is finally pregnant. The couple is overjoyed.

Since she’s already in her late 30’s, Carol had a difficult pregnancy. Her ob-gyne recommends complete bed rest from 2 months all the way until she gave birth. The birth of Sarah brought Carol and Shane indescribable joy. They didn’t know that Sarah will be with them only for 4 months.

The doctors who did the autopsy on Sarah couldn’t find the cause of her death. The airways are free. There were no bruises. There were no marks or cuts. After more examinations, they have found out the cause of her death: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Carol and Shane put her to bed one night and the next morning, Sarah is not yet breathing.

Imagine the difficulty that Carol and Shane felt with the sudden passing of their baby. If you have a baby younger than 4 months old, you should learn more about this disease that has been stealing babies from their cribs during their restful sleep and taking them to the valley of death. SIDS targets 7% of babies born every year. Don’t be frightened because there are steps that you can take to save you and your baby from this terrible situation.

If your child has ADHD, it is reasonable to ask about the causes of ADHD. Although there are some things that you can do to decrease the symptoms of ADHD in your child, you have to know that until now, scientists have to discover the exact causes of ADHD. The common belief is that children become hyperactive because of sugary foods, too much TV, dysfunctional homes and incompetent teachers. All of these are just myths. Doctors agree that it is genetics.

Although children become hyperactive when they eat sugary foods, sugar is ruled out as the cause of ADHD. It doesn’t help them control their ADHD. On the contrary, doctors recommend that they avoid sweets. This is only because sweets make the condition worse and not because they are the cause of the disorder. With or without sugar, ADHD is found in children.

People are also fast to judge the parents of children who have ADHD. They say that parents of ADHD children have problems because they don’t know how to take care of their children. They let their children watch too much TV or play too much video games. They say that parents are not giving their ADHD children enough attention that’s why they crave for attention.

All of these things are not the causes of ADHD. Although watching TV and playing video games and having dysfunctional home set up can cause stress and behavior problems to children, ADHD children will still have the symptoms even if they are not exposed to these factors. Parents should not blame themselves when they discover their children having ADHD.

It is much better to ask for the things to do to help your children instead of asking the causes of ADHD. You cannot track back all the things that happened with your child. You cannot bring back time. But what you can do is to move forward and help your child grow up to be normal adults even with the disorder.

Doctors still have to find out the real cause of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) among children. But what they have discovered is that the diet of the children has an effect on their behavior. Having a diet regimen that leaves out sugary, processed and dairy food prove to be effective in reducing the symptoms found in chlidren.

Have you noticed that when your child ate chocolates, they tend to be more active and hyper? They move more and they are more fidgety. Sugar has an effect in our behavior and so parents with ADHD are advised not to give their children sweets. This means no chocolates, no sugary cereals, no candies, no fruit juices and no nutrasweet. Yes, artificial sweeteners also make kids show ADHD symptoms. Removing all sugar intake in ADHD children reduces their hyperactivity considerably.

Children with ADHD will benefit from a diet based on organic foods. Foods that are highly process and that contain artificial sweeteners, colorings and flavors should be taken out of ADHD diet. It is easy to find organic foods. If you look at the packaging and read ingredients that sound different or difficult to pronounce, then don’t give that to your child. Instead, have your child eat more organic grains such as rice, oatmeal and fresh vegetables and fruits.

You should also reduce or completely leave out the intake of dairy products such as eggs, milk and cheese. A good source of protein for ADHD children which is said to be better than Ritalin is coffee with protein powder. The caffeine in the coffee acts like the active ingredients of Ritalin. Many parents with ADHD children report a significant improvement in their children after learning about this.

You don’t always need to resort to prescribed medicines whenever there is something wrong with your child. What you can do first is have your child follow a set of ADHD diet. There are tens of thousands of recipes that you can cook and there are cook books that are already in the market that give recipes specifically for children with ADHD. By following a diet with no sugar, no inorganic ingredients and no protein can help in reducing the symptoms of ADHD in your child.

It is very difficult and stressful job—parenting children with ADHD. Parents tend to feel desperate because they don’t know what to do with their children who are misbehaving or who takes a long time to finish their homework or run around the house like a whirlwind. What is the best way to raise a child with ADHD?

First, it is important that you don’t feel angry at yourself because your child is behaving unlike other normal kids. You should not blame yourself for your child’s misbehavior. Scientists have proved that ADHD is caused by an imbalance in the chemistry of the brain and not caused by the parents.

Second, if your child is diagnosed with ADHD, you should not handle it alone. There are a number of counselors and groups that are willing to help you. There are a number of forums in the internet where you can share your experiences and problems in parenting a child with ADHD with other parents who have ADHD kids. You will find that it is more manageable to deal with your child if you have support from others who experience the same thing.

Third, learn everything you can learn about ADHD. There are hundreds of books and internet sites that give you information about the condition. By knowing a lot about your child’s condition, you will be more prepared to handle different situations and solve different problems that most children with ADHD have.

The last thing that is very important is to give some time and care for yourself. Although a child with ADHD needs more attention and care than normal kids, you should also make sure that you are alright emotionally because you will be the strength of your child. If you are not in control of your emotions, you will not be able to handle your child properly.
